01Scope and acceptance
These Terms of Sale govern the purchase of rugs and related products from MAJLIS Editions ("MAJLIS," "we," "us"). By submitting a design for review, requesting a quote, or confirming an order, you agree to these terms. They work together with our MAJLIS Warranty. If you are purchasing on behalf of a company, studio, or firm, you confirm you are authorized to do so.
02Custom, made-to-order products
MAJLIS rugs are custom and made to order. Each rug is hand-tufted to your specification after the design has been reviewed and approved, rather than pulled from stock. Because every piece is produced for a specific room and brief, the order process includes a review step before production begins, and the made-to-order nature of the product affects changes, cancellations, and returns as described below.
03Quotes and pricing
Estimates shown in the MAJLIS Studio are provided as a guide only and are not a final price. Final pricing is confirmed by MAJLIS after we review the complete specification, including surface, size, shape, pile height, edges, colors, and any custom details. Prices are quoted in United States dollars and exclude taxes, duties, and shipping unless stated otherwise on your quote.
A quote is valid for the period stated on it. Pricing may change for new quotes, and any quote becomes an order only once it is confirmed by both you and MAJLIS.
04Trade and wholesale
Approved trade accounts receive an introductory trade discount of 20% off list pricing. To activate trade pricing, apply for a trade account and provide the requested business details. There are no order minimums for clients or trade. Wholesale and larger project pricing is arranged directly with our team. Trade pricing applies once your account is approved and may not be combined with other offers unless we agree otherwise in writing.
05Placing an order and approval
To place an order, submit your design through the Studio or with our team and request a quote request. We confirm the specification with you before production. Your order is accepted, and these terms become binding for that order, when MAJLIS confirms the final specification and the order is placed. Please review every detail at this stage, since production follows your approved specification.
06Payment
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, payment is due when an order is confirmed, and production begins after payment is received. For trade and project orders, payment arrangements are set out on your quote or order confirmation. Production timelines start from the later of order confirmation and receipt of any payment due.
07Production and lead time
Most orders are delivered within 8 to 12 weeks, since each rug is hand-tufted to order. Lead times are estimates measured from order confirmation and final approval, and they can vary with size, complexity, and order volume. We will let you know if a timeline is expected to differ materially from this range.
08Shipping and delivery
We ship by FedEx or a similar service directly to your home or project. For orders outside the United States and Europe, shipment may be made to the nearest port, after which onward delivery, clearance, and any related charges are the buyer's responsibility. Delivery dates are estimates. Import duties, taxes, and customs fees, where they apply, are the buyer's responsibility unless your quote states otherwise.
Please inspect your rug on delivery and report any visible transit damage to us promptly, with photographs, so we can help resolve it.
09Samples
We recommend requesting physical samples before production to confirm color and texture, especially when matching an active room or a hospitality or trade brief. Samples are representative of our materials and finishes. Because rugs are handcrafted, slight variation between a sample and a finished rug is normal and is not considered a defect.
10Changes and cancellations
Tell us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an order. Before production begins, we will do our best to accommodate reasonable changes, which may affect pricing or lead time. Once a rug has entered production, it is being made specifically for you, so changes and cancellations may not be possible, and any work already completed may be chargeable.
11Returns
Because MAJLIS rugs are custom and made to order, they are not stocked items and generally cannot be returned or exchanged once produced. This does not affect your rights in the case of a manufacturing defect, which is handled under the MAJLIS Warranty, or any rights you may have under applicable law. If something is wrong with your order, contact us and we will work with you to make it right.
12Warranty
Each MAJLIS rug is covered against manufacturing defects for one year from the date of delivery. Defects must be reported directly to our team within that period. Full details, including what is covered and how to make a claim, are in the MAJLIS Warranty. Our products are thoroughly tested, and we stand by them.
13Care
MAJLIS rugs are made with ECONYL® regenerated nylon and built for daily use. Following our care guidance helps your rug last and keeps it within warranty coverage. If you are unsure how to clean or maintain your rug, reach out and we will advise.
14Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MAJLIS is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from the sale or use of our products. Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your rights as a consumer.
15Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. We aim to resolve any concern directly and in good faith, so please contact us first and we will work toward a fair outcome.
